On August 14, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy to Libya Liu Jian met with Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Libya Hanna Tetteh in Tunis.

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Liu Jian reaffirmed China's principled position on the Libyan issue and expressed China's willingness to strengthen communication and coordination with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to promote a political resolution to the situation.

Special Representative Hanna Tetteh provided an update on UNSMIL's recent interactions with relevant stakeholders and outlined the mission's plans for future actions.
