On July 14, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy to Libya Liu Jian met with Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund Belgassim Haftar in the eastern Libyan city Derna.

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Liu Jian emphasized that China attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and is committed to enhancing practical cooperation across various fields. He expressed the hope that the Libyan side would create a conducive environment for Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Libya, so as to further deepen the strategic partnership between China and Libya and bring tangible benefits to the people of both countries.

Director General Belgassim Haftar noted that Libya-China cooperation features strong complementarity and broad prospects. He expressed his welcome for Chinese enterprises to resume operations in libya at an early date and actively participate in Libya’s development and reconstruction process, aiming to further deepen and strengthen cooperation in various fields between the two countries and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
