On March 25, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy to Libya Liu Jian met with Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Libya Hanna Tetteh in Tunis.

Special Representative Hanna Tetteh presented an overview of the efforts undertaken by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to advance the political process in Libya, as well as the consultations carried out by the Advisory Committee established under UNSMIL. She further expressed her hope for enhanced communication and coordination with China regarding Libyan issues. 

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Liu Jian outlined China's principled position on the Libyan issue, reaffirming China's full support for the UN’s mediation and peace-promoting efforts. He also emphasized China's readiness to maintain close cooperation and exchanges with UNSMIL to facilitate the early achievement of stability and development in Libya.
